Early life and training

Polanski began dancing at age eight in New Orleans, rooted in the city’s Bounce and Second Line traditions. At sixteen, he took his first formal salsa class and immersed himself in Cuban and Afro-Latin dance forms under masters such as Aurelio Gonzales and Ana Grietal. He later trained intensively with leading figures including Eddie Torres, Tomás Guerrero, and Jorjet Alcocer, completing the Cuerpos Creativos mambo certification in Mexico.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Polanski founded Tropik Vybe Dance Company in 2016, originally in New Orleans and later relocated to Dallas. The studio offers progressive training programs, socials, and online instruction emphasizing precision, creativity, and Afro-Latin rhythm. He and his partner Clo Ferreira tour internationally, conducting workshops and performing at major salsa and bachata congresses.
